Our Story
Outeniqua Game Farm is a family-owned, local champion nestled in the heart of the Outeniqua Mountains. Our journey began in 2012 when we acquired the land that would become Outeniqua Game Farm. We were driven by a desire to create a space where people could connect with nature, culture and community and experience the transformative power of the outdoors. We envisioned creating a self-sustaining, nature-centric, community-enhancing experience.
Our commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement has been at the heart of our mission from the very beginning. Over time, we developed our property aiming towards creating our eco-friendly farm-to-table concept, where we strive to produce the best quality meat and produce while minimising our impact on the environment. We take pride in being self-sufficient and off-grid, using sustainable practices such as solar power and rainwater harvesting and potted water on the farm.
In 2016, we faced a devastating setback when wildfires swept through the area and destroyed much of our property, leaving destruction and loss in its wake. However, through the hard work of our team and the support of our community, near and far, we overcame this challenge and emerged stronger than ever. Today our farm stands as a testament to the resilience of nature and the power of community and perseverance.
